Now the event is much larger please start people in order of expected race time - the first 2km was very hectic with people of all speeds jostling. Get people queuing with the pace setters and have “pens”. Would be much better. Good problem to have as the numbers are so strong! Thanks and see you in 2026

A very well organised event. Everything was well managed and easy to follow and ran efficiently. My only suggestion for the future is to have a large clock time mounted high up near the finish line so spectators can see what time people are crossing at. The route had nice scenery and there was an amazing atmosphere throughout the streets and lanes of Colchester. Many people were out showing support, offering encouragement, and handing out sweets to runners, which was great to see and really helped. It was my first half marathon and whilst there are hills, I'd recommend the Colchester Half to anyone.

A really good event this year. Slightly cramped start line but nothing out of the ordinary. Loads of support from the locals throughout the route. Water stands were slightly unprepared and could do with spreading out further to avoid congestion.

Overall a very good event and would recommend to anyone looking to smash a half.

I went round in a wheelchair and found the event to be top class. In the hillier parts, the support I received from the locals was second to none and I was truly humbled
