Very well orgnanised and good fun
It's a very minor point, but the t-shirts seemed poor quality. Would like to see something a bit more special (and fashionable).
Brilliant
Amazing Very well organized
Thoroughly enjoyed it, would give it 100%, other than the slight issue below. Looking forward to next year!
Only small issue was the water stops. There's so many runners trying to get through, that two small tables just wasn't enough to get water. The volunteers (although doing their best) were pouring not even a quarter of a cup's worth of water due to the demand, which meant we just weren't getting enough to stay hydrated. I deliberately didn't bring water as there were 4 water stops on the course, yet ended the race under-hydrated. This definitely needs addressing, as people were getting annoyed and frustrated at not being able to get water, having to wait, rather than just grabbing and going. Also, the rubbish bags for the cups were 10 metres up the road, which gives you zero time to drink the little you were given before having to throw the cup away! this then lead to lots of plastic rubbish on the roads. Also, if you are trying to be sustainable, why the plastic cups?! Surely cardboard/paper ones would be better...?
These are a small points and honestly given to provide constructive feedback - I'm not moaning!
:)))
Many thanks for your feedback, we will review our water station set up to ensure the best runner experience. Thanks for taking part in CHM25
Great event with brilliant organisation throughout
Throughout the run, I didn't see any pace makers myself, so ensure the pacemakers are more visible somehow in future?
It was great!
Nice race around sunny Colchester.
The drinks station were poor this year. The number of racers had increased but the drink's stations were no bigger. The poor volunteers weren't able to deal with the number of runners and I struggled for hydration. My suggestion would be adding further drinks tables to the other side of the road. Particularly the severalls station where there was ample room to add a couple of tables. Other than that the race was hugely enjoyable!

Would go again!
Water stations weren’t great
Plz use water bottles
Great event with a lovely atmosphere
Pacers need to be more visible at the start with maybe boards as you can’t see their pink T-shirts in crowds of people. Toilets on the second half of the course would be good, apart from that nothing needs changing a very well organised event
Great course, great event!
Excellent event.
Crisps were a great addition for recovery.
A fun(?), well organised, well attended and supported (by spectators) event. Colchester takes its Half Marathon to its heart and the people show love and respect to the runners.event.
It was a nice touch to post the race day shirts out before the race. That way, people who may have suffered a late injury still got a memento of the event, (which they would have paid for), other runners wore their shirts o the day, giving them a feeling of bonding with others and being part of a group, and runners with tired legs didn't have to stand in a queue to collect their shirt. Please do that again next year. Also, the shirt and medal matching, was a nice touch.
Thanks for another great event.
Brilliantly organised half marathon
Great organisation. Having use of the stadium’s facilities before and after sets this apart from other events as so nice to have proper toilets and shelter. Only one area I can think of for improvement is the water stations, as the volunteers struggled to keep up with demand.
A great race and atmosphere for all levels
Good run, well organised
A good half marathon
The route was a single lap half marathon with two distinct halves - the first in the urban center, the second in the more rural back roads. It was moderately hilly with a couple of notable climbs.
The atmosphere was good and it was well organized, and I really enjoyed the finish straight in particular. There was some fantastic marshals and spectators out on the course bringing the noise and encouragement and it was never confusing where the route went. Provisional results were quickly published afterwards.
A lot of the busy roads were only closed one way which meant breathing in exhaust fumes at points which wasn't ideal, also I'm sure some cars tried to ignore road closures - I saw one car do a three pointer and aggressively drive off when they realised.
Also would have been good to put the big bin bags further down the road from where water was being handed out so you have more time to drink.
well organized friendly event
Hilly chilly thrilling
It would be fair to show the results by chip time, not the gun time.
Volunteers were incredible, helpful and supportive
Brilliant atmosphere and scenery for my first half marathon
Brilliant organisation, scenery, medal and public support from Colchester.
Very good
Great course for all abilities & fantastic atmosphere
