Decent
Water stations during the race were very unorganised- No water ready at the majority of stations. Feel like water bottles would of been a better idea than refilling through a giant fish-bowl.
Overall, good race and no other issues.

A nice and friendly half marathon
This was a really good event, with a nice course, the water stops were a little overwhelmed but otherwise a great event. Really like the race t-shirt, well done all
Matt Shelley
Great run, really well organised
Thank you to all the volunteers who made the race happen

Great race, but with a couple of big hills a newbie might not want to face.
I enjoyed the race and it was well run etc - the only small thing I would change is, the pacesetters.
I could not see the pacesetters that were there - can you have signs on them that are well above head height so runners can get into the right places at the start, this can be encouraged over the PA system. It was really hard for fast runners to get front\dodge slower runners at the beginning of the race.

Great but hilly half
The race was well organised in general and the course was well marshalled.
My main criticism is (like many other reviews) the water stations. It seemed poorly organised - volunteers desperately trying to pour cups of water while frustrated runners queued / waited. More tables and more cups needed to be ready in advance. This was the worst water stations I have experienced in a half marathon. I'm sure it will have led to dehydration in some runners. Please re think this for next year.
Other than that it was a lovely route and I would recommend to others.
Thanks

One of the best half marathons in the country

Amazing marshals and support!
Watch out for North Hill and Ipswich Road though lol
wendy Aldridge
great course and atmosphere
Many thanks, a lovely event, extremely well organised (plenty of loos!). A great course with city streets and quiet country lanes. Great support along the route
Jonathan Smith
Very well orgnanised and good fun
It's a very minor point, but the t-shirts seemed poor quality. Would like to see something a bit more special (and fashionable).

Thoroughly enjoyed it, would give it 100%, other than the slight issue below. Looking forward to next year!
Only small issue was the water stops. There's so many runners trying to get through, that two small tables just wasn't enough to get water. The volunteers (although doing their best) were pouring not even a quarter of a cup's worth of water due to the demand, which meant we just weren't getting enough to stay hydrated. I deliberately didn't bring water as there were 4 water stops on the course, yet ended the race under-hydrated. This definitely needs addressing, as people were getting annoyed and frustrated at not being able to get water, having to wait, rather than just grabbing and going. Also, the rubbish bags for the cups were 10 metres up the road, which gives you zero time to drink the little you were given before having to throw the cup away! this then lead to lots of plastic rubbish on the roads. Also, if you are trying to be sustainable, why the plastic cups?! Surely cardboard/paper ones would be better...?
These are a small points and honestly given to provide constructive feedback - I'm not moaning!

Great event with brilliant organisation throughout
Throughout the run, I didn't see any pace makers myself, so ensure the pacemakers are more visible somehow in future?

It was great!

Nice race around sunny Colchester.
The drinks station were poor this year. The number of racers had increased but the drink's stations were no bigger. The poor volunteers weren't able to deal with the number of runners and I struggled for hydration. My suggestion would be adding further drinks tables to the other side of the road. Particularly the severalls station where there was ample room to add a couple of tables. Other than that the race was hugely enjoyable!

Would go again!
Water stations weren’t great
Plz use water bottles

Great event with a lovely atmosphere
Pacers need to be more visible at the start with maybe boards as you can’t see their pink T-shirts in crowds of people. Toilets on the second half of the course would be good, apart from that nothing needs changing a very well organised event

Great course, great event!

Excellent event.
Crisps were a great addition for recovery.
