Well organised and a great day weatherwise for completing this compared to 2024. Marshalls were fabulous and very supportive plus the good weather brought far more people out to support all the runners which really helped.
Good organisation
Well run and nice crowds
Good event as always
The organisers did a great job 100 percent happy!
Very well organised, great atmosphere
The route is great, challenges you on every level. I would definitely do this one again.
An enjoyable and well organised race, with great crowd support and marshals
I enjoyed this race. The local crowd support was great and the marshals encouraging. Just a comment on the water provision. It didn't bother me as I brought my own small 250ml water bottle (filled with water + electrolyte), which I always carry in races now, up to half marathons. In a marathon, I fill it with gels to save me unwrapping them but don't mind stopping at water stations for water. In a cool half marathon in March it lasted me OK. Only the week before, I was helping at a water station in the Cambridge Half Marathon and we had the same problem...frantically trying to unwrap and pour water into cups while the queue of frustrated runners lengthened. I hate to think what would have happened on a hot day in the middle of summer. At one point we were running low on water and having to restrict the amount poured out. I think the problem is suddenly switching from bottles to cups to try to be more sustainable and use less plastic (as they did at Cambridge and I think at Colchester). It simply takes too long to unwrap and fill cups in a large race. We started the Cambridge race with 6 large tables covered in half-filled cups but they were gone in minutes as the runners surged through. It was very labour intensive for the volunteers to try to keep up with demand. My suggestion would be to provide a reserve of small bottles of no more than 250ml, and encourage runners to carry them until they are empty...that's as well as recyclable cups. One bottle should last until the next water station. It's so much easier to sip from a bottle than drink from a cup while you're running! Taking a few sips from a bottle and throwing it away is very wasteful. In the previous year's Cambridge Half in which I ran (when it was quite cool) I noticed that's what runners were doing...sipping and throwing.
Fantastic race, would definitely recommend.
Well run race, in both senses of the words.
Might have helped to have pens for the different paced runners. First mile was slow because so many slow runners were near the front.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience
Very well organised and fabulous marshaling
Excellent Race in all aspects
Helpful, informative and well organised.
My first event since having total knee replacements in both legs. Jess and Rachel at Nice Work assisted me greatly both leading up to and on the day of the race. I was able to start earlier, as sadly. I am only allowed to walk and this was well organised and efficiently done. All race officials and stewards were enthusiastic and encouraging and helped this 63 year old man achieve a walking half marathon PB.
Great value, nice to run on home turf
Great event
A great event and well organised
My only gripe is that I was unaware that the water stations were just cups, which you can't drink when running. If I had known, I would have taken a bottle.
Fun!
My first half marathon and it was in my home town. Thoroughly enjoyed it and going through the villages etc
Excellent choice for my first half marathon
Very well organised event. Lots of encouragement from volunteer Marshalls and members of the public along most of the route. Thanks to everyone involved.
Decent
Water stations during the race were very unorganised- No water ready at the majority of stations. Feel like water bottles would of been a better idea than refilling through a giant fish-bowl.
Overall, good race and no other issues.
A nice and friendly half marathon
This was a really good event, with a nice course, the water stops were a little overwhelmed but otherwise a great event. Really like the race t-shirt, well done all
Great run, really well organised
Thank you to all the volunteers who made the race happen
Great event
