Good
The water was very poor. On the run the water service was by cups which were being filled while waiting. That is not good when people are trying to do their best.
After the finish runners were waiting in the finish area in a queue to get water. Like others I gave up waiting and tried to find water in the stadium. Really need to fix this.
This was the only poor aspect of the run and otherwise I’d like to then the volunteer marshals and helpers for a great day out.

Well organised, good route, plenty of support.

Very good race
Want waves in starts to spread amount of people first few miles was horrible. Also the pacers to have tall flags like other half’s I’ve run to be clear to see.

Great Event
I do this event every year & I love the atmosphere & support all the way round. I love seeing my own local area as I do the course & I would say it is friendly to beginners & competitive runners alike.

Nice half, good route, mixture of city and rural.
If it was possible to zone the start into expected finish times that would help. Entry points rather than just load from the back so you don't have to squeeze past loads of people. Once running ra e was great. Brill Marshall, very friendly, back next year.

Friendly and fun for beginners

Best Colchester Half yet!
My 6th year running the Colchester Half and it was amazing to see the biggest turnout yet! Well organised as usual. I don’t like to give negative feedback but the water stations were very poor this year. Not quick enough to re-fill cups for the approaching runners. I missed out on water on the 1st and nearly the 3rd station as there wasn’t water ready! Pouring cups out of water bottles simply isn’t quick enough to keep up with the large amount of runners. I’d seriously advise to speak to organisers of Great Bentley Half. They used large water butts with taps which was the best water stations I’ve come across! Also at the finish funnel this was an issue waiting for water and causing congestion in the finish area. Other than that. A brilliant event!

Brilliant Event
Not sure the water cups worked at all.
Surely more cups were used that distributing bottles…
Had to wait for cups to be filled up and then only got half a cup.
Felt really dehydrated to be honest.
But please don’t take it as a moan as the event was amazing as ever!
Well done all involved in organising including the Marshalls.

Very good event, great course, great support and crowds.
The only veteran category on offer was for over 40s. I am 62 and last year finished 2nd Veteran 60, which I was very proud of. I have no chance against runners 20 years younger than me. PLEASE add at least 10 or ideally 5 year age categories next year, with or without prizes just so we can compete against similar aged runners and compare our performances.

Great event really well organised.
As there are a lot of runners it is dangerous at the beginning where there are lots of runners trying to find a place to run.
